THE RESEARCH In collaboration with BEAST, BioEngineering Association of STudents (graduate students), BMES now will be putting up postings of lab positions directly from the Graduate Students themselves who are looking for undergraduate assistants- if and when said graduate students contact us General things to consider when emailing a graduate student or PI (professor) about joining their research: Why are you interested in their lab/research topic? Keep it brief! (No essays) How much time can you contribute this semester? (if lab position is for a year, can you project to next semester?) Send a Resume/CV (these should mention the following): What (if any) experiences do you have which might apply? What relevant coursework (if any) have you taken or are taking? Lab courses? Other time commitments? GPA? For more listings and details, go to Research Listings ... \\Sp '10 update// Unfortunately, it seems that none of the BEAST students have been posting up positions on their side, so we are unable to list anymore than the one below... ...However, the questions above are still good things to keep in mind if you take the initiative to email professors with the kinds of research you are interested in! Or if you choose to take advantage of the programs available in Berkeley and at other schools: URAP (semester), URO (semester), SURF (summer), BSBRP (summer), SUPERB (summer), Amgen Scholars (summer), etc... ALUMNI DATABASE We're starting to compile a list of BioE alumni! > Seniors and Alumni! Please fill out this form, it'll only take a minute! We would love to keep in touch with all our alumni, and with your permission, pass on questions from current students regarding what you're doing now. (Your contact information will not be publicly listed). > Current Students! Once we get this going, we'll be putting up a list of names and what they're up to. If you've questions, your questions can be passed on to them.
SOURCES AND RESOURCES Periodically, we'll be posting up resources, opinions/tips and other interesting miscellany relevant to the bioengineer. Check it out below! |
