Debbie Hung (Secretary) This summer was the best summer I have ever had!!! Right after my last final of the semester, I jumped on the plane and went back to Taiwan with one of my really close friends who was going abroad for the first time. For two weeks, we travelled around the country and visited family and friends. I showed her the places where I lived and played in my childhood and we also went on to explore new places. After she came back to Berkeley for summer school, I did research at the Institute of Applied Mechanics in National Taiwan University as part of the Taiwan Tech Trek program and had the time of my life!!! I observed a liquid droplet as it comes into contact with a liquid surface through a high speed camera, which made the observation of the phenomenon of liquid droplet cascade that lasts only about 0.2 second seem like a piece of cake. After taking pictures and videos, I analyzed the data using Matlab. During the 8-week program, I grew really close to the people in my lab and also other TTT interns. We hung out a lot after work and I know we will keep in touch for a very long time. Other than the 2-week trip and the internship, I met up with friends in Taiwan who I've known for years and got to catch up with many stories of our lives. I also spent a lot of time with my family. It was so awesome!!! The only bad thing I can say about this summer is that it is too short!!! |
